QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE UAE: DO ENTREPRENEURS HAVE HIGHER SUBJECTIVE WELLBEING?
Since 2016 GEM UAE is investigating the Quality of Life (QoL) of the UAE entrepreneurs compared to the non-entrepreneurs. We are using a subjective wellbeing approach as we are interested to know how people perceive the quality of their lives. We focus on those who have been involved in an entrepreneurial experience and compare their perceptions of QoL to the perceptions of other adult population in the UAE. The UAE has the highest Fear of Failure Rate in the world since 2016. Since fear of failure affects individuals who consider engaging in the social and interactive process of acting to create a venture, GEM UAE started investigating the reasons of fear of failure in the UAE and whether it inhibits behavior or not. The preliminary findings will be published in the 2018/19 report.
